You may have seen the sneak peek of this nursery, or seen it posted on my Instagram, but I realized I never actually got it up on the blog. Well here it is! I’ve had so many requests for black and white nurseries that are gender neutral, and it’s one of my favorite trends.
Crib | Dresser | Rug | Mirror | Curtains | Crib Sheets | Changing Basket | Tassel Wall Hanging
My clients knew they wanted a black and white nursery, and also really wanted a black accent wall. The room was small (which can be an issue for dark colors), but by doing just the accent wall and keeping everything else light and bright, the room doesn’t feel dark at all. There were also 2 windows with tons of natural light.

My clients loved elements of Scandinavian, bohemian and modern, so we combined them for an eclectic feel. For a modern touch, we added the Miffy floor lamp.
Dresser | Mirror | Changing Basket | Rug
We chose a modern crib and dresser with a natural wood finish to help warm up the space and give it a little Scandinavian feel. A few bohemian accents were added as well, like a woven changing basket instead of a standard changing pad.
Crib | Dresser | Rug | Side Table | Curtains | Chandelier (similar)
This room had so much natural light, so it was very important to add blackout curtains. We chose some gray linen blackouts, and then installed them with a corner rod attachment so make sure no light came through the seam. The room was also short on storage, so we added an open clothing rack in natural wood to match the other nursery furniture. The side table also has drawers for storing a few small things.
To break up the black accent wall, we did a little gallery display of some personal artwork and a tassel wall hanging. Everything is super lightweight, well secured, and all the glass has been replaced with plexiglass.
My clients asked for a rocker rather than a traditional nursery glider, so we went with the Sleepytime. This one is so cute and comfortable, and I love how the warm wood frame coordinates with everything else in the room.
