There’s one thing that my clients sometimes say to me that I just love. “I want my nursery to be modern but also kind of traditional—somewhere in between.” I love that this opens me up to all kinds of options; it really gets my creative juices flowing. I had a nursery e-design client who told me exactly that. Her home had a lot of mid-century modern decor and she shopped mainly at stores like West Elm, but she wanted her girl’s nursery to be softer and sweeter.
Nursery decor sources:
Modern Crib | White Modern Changing Table | Gray Glider + Ottoman | White Ladder Bookcase | Gold Round Mirror | Gold Wall Decal | Neutral Rug| Indigo Pillow| Book Rack Shelves
When I start a new e-design, I always begin with the floor plan. This gives me an idea of what will fit and how the room will flow. After we got the floor plan nailed down, I started choosing her furniture. She wanted something modern and fun that wouldn’t break the bank. I chose this great two-tone crib and dresser for her—both pieces are modern, but the unfinished wood adds just a touch of contrast and added interest.
She knew she wanted blush pink but didn’t want it to overwhelm the space. So instead, I suggested that we choose a different accent color (indigo blue) and then drop in just a touch of the blush pink. There are a few different neutrals going on in the space, so I pulled in a great patterned neutral rug to tie it all together.
Storage was another issue in this space, and she wanted open shelving. (She and her husband are both book lovers). I recommended a white tower bookcase and some additional wall book cubes to use both for storage and display. She didn’t want a themed nursery, but she wanted something in the space that reflected her love of music. I chose a fun metallic gold wall decal with little music notes to go above the crib. Cute and safe—a win win!
I’ve been getting more and more requests for e-designs these days! If you want one for your nursery or kid’s space, now is the time! This service books up fast.

Need to see some boy nurseries.
I hear you! I can’t control how many girl vs. boy clients I get, but I do have some boy’s projects I’ve been working on that I will be sharing soon!
Where is the blush small side table from?
Hello! That table is from Target, but it’s no longer available. Sorry!
Love!!! Is the rug in the ivory color or silver?
Hi Kim! It’s the Ivory color. Thanks!
What are the wall colors?
Hello! The wall color in this room is just white. The colors at the bottom (pink, gold, navy) are just representative of the overall color scheme. Thanks!
