One thing that’s so fun about being a nursery designer is that our clients have such a wide array of styles and preferences. It’s never boring! Our last nursery Virtual Design reveal was a modern neutral nursery with dark green, and this time it’s a soft and sophisticated nursery with pale blues and a subtle nautical theme.

This client wanted to keep their nursery fairly simple because they were planning on moving within the next year. So we didn’t do any wallpaper or other things that they can’t take with them. We chose a soft blue for the walls, but nothing else that required contracting. Keep reading for more about this soft blue nursery design!

Soft Blue Coastal Nursery Design

Whitewashed Storage Crib | White Glider Recliner | Wood Side Table | Rope Chandelier | Traditional Blue & Neutral Rug | Faux Sheepskin Accent Rug | Sailboat Wall Art | Blue Sailboat Wall Art | Brass Wall Hooks | Gold Bunny Mobile | White Wall Ledge | Camel Throw Blanket | Blue Stripe Pillow Cover | Blue & White Crib Sheet | Large Sheep Plush | Ivory Crib Blanket

The clients wanted a neutral and light blue nursery design with little pops of natural elements and nautical touches. The biggest challenge was finding a rug, but we finally find a great one that had warm neutrals and blues in the right shade! Then we pulled the paint color to match, and picked some great neutral nursery furniture with a distressed texture for extra dimension.

They didn’t want to spend a lot of money on window treatments since they were moving soon, so we used the existing treatments. Luckily, they were neutral blackout roman shades, so they worked perfectly!

A Soft Blue Coastal Nursery Design

Whitewashed Dresser | Brass Floor Lamp | White Glider Recliner | Wood Side Table | Dresser Lamp | Rope Chandelier | Traditional Blue & Neutral Rug | Faux Sheepskin Accent Rug | Round Gold Mirror | Narwhal Art Print | White Wall Ledge | Camel Throw Blanket | Blue Stripe Pillow Cover

We finished off the nursery design with some adorable sailboat art above the crib, and a few more accents around the room with blues and neutrals. We also added some wall ledges and an accent rug in white to freshen things up, and a side table in a warm wood tone. We just love how this nursery turned out!
