This is a special nursery design reveal because it’s the second nursery we did for this client. More than half of our full design clients last year and this year have been repeat clients, which is so wonderful! There’s nothing more satisfying as a designer than seeing a family grow with your design, and having you back for more.
The first nursery for this client was similar in style with vintage elements that fit their Los Angeles home, a subtle color palette and an original piece of art over the crib (hung very safely of course). They are art collectors and love really interesting pieces, so both of the nurseries have a unique feel.

As you can see, we had a great space to work with! The historical Los Angeles home had wood floors, a unique curved ceiling and of course that gorgeous stained glass window. The style of their home had Mid Century Modern accents as well as some more Spanish style pieces to reflect the home’s history.

This room was a good size, so we were able to fit a pretty blush velvet sofa into the new nursery design. It’s a petite size, but large enough for a parent to take a nap or just to hang out and read or snuggle with the baby. Their first nursery had a light wood crib, but for this nursery, we decided to go with a white crib with a more Mid Century style and then add other accents of light wood and rattan.

To balance the lighter pieces in the nursery, we brought in a warm leather glider. The rich color works so well in this space, even though we had to wait a while for it to arrive! We paired the glider with a rattan ottoman with a linen pad to bring in a natural element.

On the other side of the room, we used a wide light wood dresser and gold wall mirror to open up the space (and bounce around the light from that amazing window). There is another side table by the sofa for added convenience and a faux plant to give the nursery a little life. We added a rug with a more Mediterranean feel to soften the space and pull the neutral and blush tones together.
