I’ve got another nursery design reveal for you! This one was one of my favorites that I worked on this year because we had so much space to utilize. Oftentimes the nursery is the smallest bedroom in the house, so this was a real treat.
The main challenge with this nursery was that my client didn’t know if she was having a boy or a girl, and wanted to keep it a surprise. I’ve worked on nursery designs like this before, and what I’ve found to be a good compromise is to design the room with mostly gender neutral items and then have two options standing by for either a boy or a girl.

So, we chose the crib, changing table, glider, curtains, chandelier, bench and some of the other decor in gender neutral tones (in this case, mostly white) and then the wallpaper, rug and accessories were chosen separately. If you’re curious what the boy version was, check out the post I wrote before we knew.

My client loved the look of white furniture with acrylic details, so I selected the acrylic crib and a dresser with acrylic knobs. We also put an acrylic changing tray on top—it’s hard to see in the photos, look closely!

Because the nursery had high ceilings, we were able to use an oversized mirror and a big statement chandelier as well. The chandelier is big and super fluffy—it’s so fun in person!

The design of this room was so unique and we had a niched in area to put the crib. It seemed like the perfect spot to put an accent wall and frame the crib, so I chose a removable floral wall mural to put there. It’s a super light pink too so it’s not overwhelming, and the flowers have a really sweet hand-painted look. Also, because of the two small windows in that same niche area, we had to make sure to put blackout curtains to block out the direct sunlight.
