We had a big string of photoshoots earlier this year after not having many due to Covid, and this is the last one we shot in that big group. I absolutely love how this nursery came out! This client is in Orange County, and the rest of her home was very soft with lots of whites, neutrals and coastal accents. She wanted the nursery to flow with the rest of the house, with a few sweet accents added.
She knew she wanted some type of wallpaper, so we started with that. She fell in love with a gorgeous abstract pattern with a neutral tone, and it’s seriously amazing in person!

Once we had the wallpaper nailed down, we knew we needed all neutral-toned furniture. We didn’t want the whole room to be white, so we paired a light wood crib with a white dresser and glider. Then we brought in some natural textures for the smaller furniture, like the woven ottoman and rattan side table.

The changing table area is clean and sleek, while still feeling warm and cozy because of all the texture. We opted for a changing basket instead of a traditional changing tray with pad. Using a basket like this allows for more flexibility on top of the dresser. The rattan mirror also brings in more texture and helps to open up the space and bounce the light around.

As always, window treatments in this nursery were super important. There are two windows that let in a ton of natural light, so we needed to make sure there was enough blackout coverage. The client already had the roman shades, but they didn’t block enough light. We added custom blackout curtains on top to really give her that blackout coverage, while also adding another design element to the room.

We kept the details in this nursery sweet and simple. The artwork over the crib is a pretty palm tree print to go with the coastal vibe of her home, and we added an adorable dog mobile since they are definitely a dog family. The artwork over the crib has plexiglass (not real glass), and it’s super secured to the wall!
Above is the rendering we did for the client so she could see the room beforehand. This one was so fun to design, and it really came out great!
