It’s time for another nursery e-design reveal! This one was really exciting for me because I’ve been dying to use a dark floral wallpaper. Dark florals are one of my favorite patterns! This client came to me wanting something really luxurious and glamorous for her baby girl’s nursery. She knew she wanted some soft pinks and potentially a dark floral wallpaper (which I quickly convinced her to do).
This dark floral is actually a wall mural, and because of the window placement in the room, we didn’t have a good clear accent wall. So instead, I chose a very soft pink grasscloth wallpaper for the whole room, and then designed the dark floral wall mural to go inside of picture frame molding next to the window.
Floral Wallpaper | Grasscloth Wallpaper | Acrylic Crib | Dresser | Glider | Storage Ottoman | Side Table | Wall Ledges | Table Lamp | Chandelier | Rug | Wall Mirror | Wall Decor | Wall Hooks | Window Treatments | Toddler Quilt | Decorative Basket | Storage Caddies
To make sure the room wasn’t overwhelmed by the dark wallpaper, I chose nursery furniture that was light and bright, like the acrylic and rose gold crib and white dresser. By using an acrylic crib, you can also see the wall mural right through it! The dresser even has acrylic handles to mirror the acrylic on the crib.
The floral wall mural also has some touches of grey, so I chose a grey glider to help balance that color. Then I added gold accents around the room for a glam feel as a finishing touch.
Instead of going with white or ivory curtains, I chose a more mauve hue instead to give the room some richness and warmth. I love how they balance the softer pinks and coordinate with the darker tones in the floral.
