This nursery design is such a special one because we designed it for a very dear friend! Pregnant with her first baby, she knew she wanted a nursery that was calming and serene, had softness and texture, but that was also fun and cheery. We did most of the design for this nursery as an E-Design, and you can see the design board below. They installed the whole room themselves, and even built the board and batten walls!
Convertible Mini Crib | Neutral Glider Recliner | Light Wood Dresser | Leather Ottoman (unavailable) | Hamper Basket | Large Plush Llama | Rattan Side Table | Gold Floor Lamp | Neutral Rug | Faux Sheepskin Rug (similar) | Neutral Blackout Curtains | Faux Palm Tree | Gold Table Lamp | Neutral Abstract Wall Art | Muslin Baby Blanket
Below is the nursery design board we sent over and as you can see, there are a few little things that are different. The leather ottoman went out of stock before we could purchase it, so that got switched out for the one above—which is just as great (and consequently, also now discontinued). The crib is also assembled at the mini size (it’s convertible), so it looks smaller in the photos. Once the baby is bigger, it will be converted into the full size crib.
For the wall art, we actually had two options. The wall name flag as seen below, and the two neutral canvas pieces in the photos above. We brought them both to the photoshoot to see which she liked best, and ended up shooting the nursery with the canvases.
The convertible mini crib is definitely one of the highlights of the room. Their home is single story, making this crib a perfect choice since it can easily be wheeled around the house (at it’s smaller size). The functionality of it is great since it can be used as a bassinet in any room.
The dresser in this nursery is just gorgeous! It has an insanely beautiful light wood finish, gold accents at the bottom and leather pulls. Because of the way the board and batten was installed, we decided to place the mirror on the dresser rather than hanging it on the wall.
The glider is one of our favorites. It’s both a glider and a recliner, so it has dual functionality. When using a glider that’s also a recliner, it’s nice to have a light ottoman that’s easily moved when you want to use the reclining option. Many parents like having the recliner option so they can sleep in the nursery if needed.
One of the best little details in this nursery is the custom painted cat portrait by Diane Rieger. Yes, that’s the client’s actual cat and he’s been painted in an adorable whimsical way. The pop of color really pulls together the whole nursery design!
All in all, this was such a special space to work on, and it came out so wonderfully! See more photos of this nursery in our portfolio.

This is beautiful! What colour of blue did you go with on the board and batten? It’s perfect.
