It’s funny how the types of nurseries we design seems to come in waves. Sometimes we have a slew of girl’s nurseries, sometimes it’s all clients who want neutral designs, etc. At the moment, we are working on a bunch of boy’s nurseries at the same time so get ready for a reprieve from all the pink you might be seeing on our instagram!
One of the boy’s nursery designs we did recently was this E-Design below. The client wanted a fresh take on the blue nursery—not too traditional and not too modern, and with elements of texture and elegance.
Blue Grasscloth Wallpaper | White Convertible Storage Crib | Organic Gauze Throw Blanket | Modern White Glider | Blue Knit Throw Blanket | Neutral Blue Stripe Ottoman | White Fluted Side Table | Brass Floor Lamp | White Bead Chandelier | Light Blue Geometric Rug | Bunny Wall Art | Giraffe Wall Art | Faux Sheepskin Accent Rug | Elephant Rocker | Blue Dot Throw Pillow | Linen Blackout Curtains
Our client knew she wanted nursery wallpaper, and loved the idea of grasscloth for texture. We chose a sky blue grasscloth that wasn’t too powdery and suggested that she paint the ceiling to match. The ceiling was high and had the perfect soffit feature for an accent color.
For furniture, we went with a crib and changing table that were slightly on the traditional side, but not overly so. We also mixed wood tones for that layered look—the crib is white and the changing table is a light distressed wood.
She didn’t want to include too much metallic in this room, so we kept it simple. There is a round gold mirror over the changing table and a gold curtain rod, but not many other metallic accents. The dresser has black hardware to balance the black knobs that her main doors and closet have. The mixed metal look is always great in a nursery!
Muted Wood Changing Tray Dresser | Gold Table Lamp | White Fluted Side Table | Light Blue Geometric Rug | White Bead Chandelier | White Wall Ledges | Neutral Hamper | Round Gold Mirror | Small Faux Potted Plant
We just love how this nursery came out! She had the room professional photographed, so keep an eye out on our instagram for photos of how this room came out.
