As you can see, all of the furniture is on this side of the room. That’s because the wall you can’t see needed to be reserved for a desk/office space for the homeowners. This space was small already, but we needed to fit both a nursery and an office!
Luckily, the room had an inset niche that worked perfectly for the crib. We were able to fit a full size crib in here, but many small nurseries require a mini crib (see our post on mini cribs). Our client absolutely loved this custom lemon tree wallpaper, but we didn’t want to overwhelm the space by using it on all the walls. Instead, we created panels inside the niche for some dimension—it functions more like a piece of art.
We chose a small nursery glider with a rounded back. Gliders with rounded backs are much easier to use in a small nursery space. The dresser is also small, but still fits a changing pad. The nursery had high ceilings, so we were able to include some nice long emerald green drapery and a statement light fixture as well!
We kept most of the nursery design neutral with some pops of emerald green, gold and that touch of yellow from the wallpaper. It’s always a good idea to stay light and bright in small nurseries, especially if they don’t have very much natural light. We just love how this nursery came out!
