Neutral nursery spaces have become so popular, and we’re still getting tons of clients asking for them. Who wouldn’t want a soothing, serene nursery? Today’s E-Design reveal is just that—a soft, subtle nursery with lots calming vibes, but certainly not lacking in interest!

This client wanted a nursery that felt sophisticated, bright and clean to flow with her modern home in Miami, FL. She shared photos of the rest of her home, and there was a lot of white, neutral and black accents. She wanted to carry this same vibe into the nursery.

Right off the bat, you can see how high the ceiling is. As a nursery designer, high ceilings are always a bonus since most nurseries are on the smaller side. Even if the room is small, a high ceiling can really change the way a space feels.

To stay within her request for whites/neutrals, but also add interest to the room, we chose a subtle herringbone wallpaper for all the walls. Many nurseries have just an accent wall of wallpaper, but since this room had those high ceilings and good natural light, we decided on doing all the walls. The paper has a white background and a neutral pattern, so it’s not overwhelming at all.

For the nursery furniture, we again stayed with white. We chose a white and acrylic crib for a modern touch, and paired it with a white dresser customized with black handles. To bring the room a touch of warmth, we went with a neutral glider instead of a white one. The glider also has black feet which coordinate with the overall design.

The window treatments are long blackout curtains with a black curtain rod for that pop. These particular blackout curtains come in an extra long length, which was perfect since this nursery has such high ceilings.

We also chose a neutral rug with a subtle pattern and layered a faux sheepskin on top for some added texture. A woven hamper, light wood side table and wood wall name also bring in more warmth, and the plants add life and cohesiveness.
