We’ve got another nursery E-Design reveal for you today! This client came to us wanting a nursery that felt bright and open, with a neutral color palette. We’ve had so many clients asking us to design a neutral nursery lately—it’s definitely on trend and it’s so easy to work in other color or pattern later on. As always, we started with the floor plan. This room was kind of long and skinny and it had lots of doors, so we were pretty limited on where we could place the furniture. There was one main wall on the right that didn’t have any obstructions, and luckily it was long enough to fit both the crib and the glider. We were able to fit the changing table on another smaller wall near the bathroom door (which is also convenient for cleanup).
Since there were a lot of black doors in this room, we balanced the space with some nice white nursery furniture. They wanted a transitional feel, not too modern and not too traditional, so we chose pieces that had interest but that weren’t overly ornate. And of course, the adorable neutral floral wallpaper is the backdrop of the room. It’s sweet and subtle, and removable!
Because we had two windows in this room that let in quite a lot of light, it was important to add blackout curtains. One of the windows was pushed up into the corner, so we went with clean and simple window hardware without any big finials that would take up that space.
The sweet little accents around the room helped to make it feel cozy, like the gold animal wall hooks and the wood wall name (an LCI favorite!). On the opposite wall, there is a bookcase as well between the two closets for added storage and display.
